Start with the blueprint, not the textbook
The CBSE Class 10 Mathematics paper is 80 marks with an internal assessment of 20. Before you revise a single chapter, print the 2026–27 blueprint and mark the weightage next to each unit.
The 3-pass method
- Pass 1 — Concepts. Read the NCERT chapter once and write every formula on a single A4 sheet.
- Pass 2 — Exercises. Solve all NCERT exercises plus the examples. Nothing else.
- Pass 3 — Exam skills. Attempt Case Study, HOTS, MCQ and Assertion & Reason sets under a timer.
Chapters that repay effort fastest
- Trigonometry and its Applications
- Statistics and Probability
- Coordinate Geometry
- Surface Areas and Volumes
These four regularly carry over 30 marks together and are the most formulaic.
Weekly rhythm
Two chapters per week, one full mock every Sunday, and a 20-minute error-log review every night. Track every mistake in a notebook — most students repeat the same five errors all year.
